Internet Works, but claims "No Internet Access"
I'm using a brand-new install of Windows 7RC build 7100. I'm behind my own router, which is connected to my college lan, which is behind an html proxy serveron port 8080 (it's a convoluted and terrible system I know). Fortunately I have four years of experience tricking computers to work behind this cludge. I configured the proxy, gave it my user information, and the internet works fine for all intents and purposes; Internet Explorer, Zune software, Live Messenger, AdAware, and Outlook all get to the internet with no trouble at all. However, the box in the bottom right-hand side of the screen has an exclamation point and says, "Network, no internet access". The only problem I've had is in trying to update drivers for my logitech mouse; the installation software said my computer was not connected to the internet, so it could not get updates. Actually, the fact that I'm posting this on the Windows 7 install proves it's working ;). The mouse is the Logitech VX Nano Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks; a sickeningly awesome mouse. My only real concern here is that I'm afraid windows 7 may not have automatically registered like it was supposed to, and I'm afraid I won't be able to get updates properly. Does anybody know how I could find out if it registered successfully? Also, any ideas on what the issue may be would be appreciated.

Hello there, I have the same issue. I connect to the internet trough a http proxy on port 3128. All works fine but my wireless meter doens't work, it has an exclamation point, and it says: "No internet access". I don't have any Office installed.

Yes, updates are on.

OK, Try to restore your system to before you enabled Microsoft updates (NOT Windows updates) and see if that helps.

I really don't think that's the problem but I'll try. Thank a lot for the help. Meanwhile I am waiting for other possibilities.

But I don't know if I can do that because I enabled the updates at the install finish. :)

You should be able to disable Microsoft updates if you go to: Start -> All programs -> Windows Updates -> Change settings and the remove the tick mark from "Microsoft Updates" I am pretty certain that this would solve the problem, eventhough it sound stupid, but please let me know how it goes.

I too have similar problem, disabling Updates did not work me.Along with the 'exclamation' claiming 'No Internet Access', Windows Activation doesnt work and also Chrome can not access secure pages (https) i.e. basically anything that needs a login just returns Error 111 (Tunnel Connection Failed) (IE has no problem). Are these problems related?. And instead of showing one wifi network, the Network Sharing Center shows me multiple networks with same network name appended with 2 and 3eg. instead of just showing 'mywifi', it shows 'mywifi 2' and 'mywifi 3'Plz help
